About The Farm

In New York's Hudson Valley region, at the base of Hussey Hill, the northernmost point of the Marlboro Mountains, is The Farm on Hussey Hill. Place is important to us. Specifically this place.

In the 1890s, when the original cabin was built, this land was a sheep farm. The remnants of stone walls marking pasture run throughout what is now a young forest.

At the edge of the forest is our garden - designed using permaculture principles to conserve water and energy, and built within the natural slope of the land. Here, we practice intensive companion planting as a means of natural pest and weed management. To find out more about how we farm, please visit our blog.

For the 2017 Season we will be growing vegetables, fruit, flowers, and herbs; raising a colorful flock of hens for egg production; and partnering with a local beekeeper for a supply of pollinating friends and honey. To find out more about what we will be growing, please check out our  market page.

About Us

The Farm on Hussey Hill is owned and operated by Cortney and Simon Schwam. This is not them. This is their dog child, Scout.
